Leather Wall Art Guadamecí Ataurique

230,00€ EUR

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

The guadamecí is embossed, tooled and stamped leather with the application of a fine silver or gold leaf. Made by hand with the same traditional method that the Arabs used in the time of greatest splendour Caliph centuries VIII to XI.

The guadamecí has a totally aesthetic and decorative function, being applied mainly on walls, cushions, screens and also used for religious purposes, on altar pieces and altar fronts.

Its name, of Arab origin, is attributed to the North African city of Ghadamés.

This piece is a representation of the tree of life that reproduces part of the decoration on the walls of the Salón Rico of the palace city "Medina Azahara".
